Kjeragbolten & Lysefjorden

Taking advantage of the four day holiday, myself and Adam headed out to Norway to walk the length of the Lysefjorden in three days. The main tourist attractions of Kjeragbolten and Preikestolen were joined together with some fairly epic backpacking in suprisingly wintery conditions.

Warwickshire’s Finest Outdoor Crag

UKClimbing lists 4 crags within 20km of Warwick. Two are now banned, one is a dirty arched bridge under a road near the police station, but the fourth is a lovely picturesque arete near Radford. This is Warwickshire's premier outdoor climbing venue, a single boulder problem apparently graded Font 5+.

Sea Cliffs & Scrambles

Saturday at Gogarth was probably my best single trad climbing day to date. Five great routes, including the 5 pitch sea cliff adventure Gogarth. Sunday began in a small snow blizzard, but quickly cleared to provide sunshine for the 12 pitches of the Avalanche/Red Wall/Longlands continuation.

Exploring the Lakes

The UBES AGM, traditionally held around a campsite on the edge of Windermere, gave us two great days of scrambling and climbing in the Lake District. Ran Chockstone Ridge and Harrow Buttress together on the Saturday, and then ticked a couple of routes at Castle Rock on the Sunday.

Late season snow

Easter weekend gave us almost three days of skiing time in Maria Alma, Austria. There was more than enough late season snow lying around to make the trip worthwhile.
