On l'Aiguillette d'Argentiere

The rocky spires of the l'Aiguillette d'Argentiere towers over Argentiere (claims the guidebook). Some fine routes from 4c to 6b+ head up most of the faces, including a particularly atmospheric step across from one spire to another.

Two days on l'Aiguille du Midi

Two great routes up on the Midi, on Tuesday myself and Becky did the Arete des Cosmiques up to the Aiguille du Midi. After a night dug in on the Vallee Blanche, we used a 3:30am start to complete the Midi Plan Traverse (out and back) in around 9 hours total.

Harry's Highlining

Afternoon cragging at Les Gaillands, Chamonix was rained off. So Harry decided to build himself his first attempt at a highline. Video of the first successful balance embedded below.

SE Ridge of L'index

A nice warm-up of 4 pitches of climbing on L'index with Rob and Steve on day 1 in Chamonix. Lovely little route, not much more to add! Thanks to Rob W-M for some of these photos.

Offa's Dyke in the Rain

Myself, Simon and Matt set off from Oldcastle for 2 days of backpacking across Offa's Dyke. Up on top, the rain and wind so horrendous that we abandoned our plans, and after 20km+ along the Welsh-English border we were back in the car and off to the pub. It was so wet, we didn't take a single photo.

Petzl Aztars: Going Leashless

Finally found time to convert my Petzl Aztars so I can climb leashless. Fitted a Petzl Sum'tec Trigrest to the bottom of both shafts, an operation which involved more cutting and gluing than originally expected. I recommend a sharp scalpel blade and lots of 2-part acrylic glue.
