Cadair 3 Ways

A roasting hot wild camp+climb adventure with Cat and Louise in southern Snowdonia. There's not much else in the area that's very tall, so we decided to make the trip longer by hiking Cadair three times. Step 1 was to start from the south side and traverse the mountain to a camp by Llyn y Gader. The next morning we were up early to climb Cyfrwy Arete and Table Direct, before descending to our bags at the base and then summiting once more from north > south. Very sweaty, very fun.

Snowshoe on Schneibstein

Louise, Cat and I set off on a two day adventure to the Carl von Stahl-Haus on snow-shoes. The poor weather on the approach laid down the powder for a glorious Sunday ascent of Schneibstein. We hadn't brought any avalanche gear so opted to retrace our steps rather than risk the descent from Windscharte onto the Stiergraben. A superb two day outing - thanks for visiting again!

Rauris Langlaufen

A wet, overcast day with Cat & Louise - perfect weather for a lap of the Rauris langlaufen circuit on the recommendation of Matt+Anja.

Rainy Schafberg

Quite a contrast to Saturday, a rainy ascent of Schafberg as far as the Schafbergalpe Bahnhof. Very wet.

Grosser Donnerkogel Klettersteig

The iconic, photogenic bridge on the Grosser Donnerkogel Klettersteig had been a route I'd wanted to do ever since moving to Salzburg. Cat and Louise visiting for the weekend provided the perfect opportunity to visit the area. Despite the crowds on the early part of the route, we had an amazing day out - the route might be quite easy overall, but don't underestimate the overall length if you want to catch the lift back down again.

Ski Friends

In December we hosted three sets of friends from England on mini ski-breaks to the Austrian mountains. Thanks for the fun visits Louise, Marcus, Aisling, Mark, Moffatt & Anna!
