Cannock by night

Inspired by my new found love of mountain biking I was persuaded to join my office on a night trip around the Cannock Chase mountain biking course. It turned out to be 15 hard, tiring miles in the dark - a knackering yet enjoyable mini-adventure.

Kayaking to work

There can be few finer ways to travel to work than by kayak. The Leamington to Warwick commute is a 20 minute drive, or a 50 minute paddle (plus 15 minute hike with the boats across the town centre). A very pleasant trip, with just one small weir to negotiate half way down.

Offa's Dyke in the Rain

Myself, Simon and Matt set off from Oldcastle for 2 days of backpacking across Offa's Dyke. Up on top, the rain and wind so horrendous that we abandoned our plans, and after 20km+ along the Welsh-English border we were back in the car and off to the pub. It was so wet, we didn't take a single photo.

Warwickshire’s Finest Outdoor Crag

UKClimbing lists 4 crags within 20km of Warwick. Two are now banned, one is a dirty arched bridge under a road near the police station, but the fourth is a lovely picturesque arete near Radford. This is Warwickshire's premier outdoor climbing venue, a single boulder problem apparently graded Font 5+.
