Lost on the Tour Glacier

Clay and I planned to climb the Migot Spur on the Chardonnet but we didn't get much further than the glacier. We'd hoped to hide in the drying room at head up late into the evening but with atrocious weather we opted for a bunk and left early the next morning. Lost in the thick cloud and with it snowing hard, we sat down until dawn on the ice and made a snowy descent back to the Albert Premier Hut at first light.

Crow Chin

Erinna's first introduction to gristone with a day's blitz on the routes of Crow Chin at Stanage End. Some short routes, some very run-out routes and a lot of very very blustery top-outs.

Wallowbarrow Crag

We'd never heard of Wallowbarrow before, and it seemed to be situated in a huge area of the Lakes I'd never set foot in. The sun finally came out and we had a superb day climbing some fantastic routes on brilliant rock in this hidden corner of the Lake District.

Struggling against the rain

Having travelled to the Lakes for three days of climbing, we spent much of Saturday walking around in driving rain wondering if the rock would ever dry. Worried that the only climbing we'd get done was on Langdale campsite's traversing wall, myself and Clay snuck up to Raven Crag in a late day rain break for a cheeky route late on.

The Roaches

Hot and sunny weather across the UK and a trip to the Roaches for some painfully scraping across Staffordshire grit. Myself and Matt (Cookie) began with a couple of classic Whillans ticks before I fell off some routes and Matt lost part of his nose in a painful dyno.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Backpack

On a dry but breezy weekend we backpacked the Pembrokeshire coastal path from Castlemartin to Tenby, choosing not to carry on to Saundersfoot so we could watch the World Cup Final! No good coastal backpack is complete with a tank, impressive sea stack and ancient church nestled into the rockface, so fortunately we got all three. Spent the night in Manorbier, which provided endless wordplays.
