Suspension Bridge Arete

It was a pleasure to join Steve "h00fin" Gibbs for his 10th onsight ascent of the Avon Gorge classic. We had just over an hour of light to squeeze in the route after work which made it more of a 67 minute adventure.

Weekend with Joe and Ben

I took my cousins Joe (15) and Ben (12) out for a wet weekend in the Lakes. Saturday was a pretty wet and horrid day but the boys stormed up and down Helvellyn without any fuss. On Sunday we hiked up to Pavey Ark and they had their first taste of scrambling up the classic diagonal route. A great weekend, hopefully we can do it again in the Spring!

Cam Crag Ridge

The ridge is interesting but broken and generally very escapable, all qualities that attracted Dylan to it in the first place. An ideal venue for a quick Sunday scramble before heading back home.

Eagle Front

A cold autumnal morning for some mountain trad with Ross. We headed for Eagle Front on Eagle Crag, Buttermere, and I was lucky to get all of the best pitches to lead. Great climbing if a little chilly at times.

Nav training for DofE leaders

Mark and Simon are two aspiring DofE leaders and training for the BEL course next year. We went for a hike up to Back Tor and Dovestone Tor to practice some tricky micro nav and refresh the basics.
