Chair Ladder

Ita had never been climbing outdoors before, so Cat and I took her in at the deep end with a five pitch tidal sea cliff route at Chair Ladder. We initially ab'd in to the wrong route, and then traversed across too low so by the time we topped out of Pendulum Chimney we'd finished seven pitches of climbing.

Ross and I finished on the Hard Rock route Bishop's Rib, although I fell off on a section helpfully described by Ross as "that was so easy, how did you manage to come off?".

Chee Tor Girdle

Clay didn't mention that we had to ford a river to reach the base of the crag, but once we'd dried out the route was super. The pitches get better and better, its very rare to do so much traversing in such a great setting.

Christmas skiing with Doug

Our first Christmas hosting my family in Austria, a good couple of days skiing with Doug include a powdertastic day in the trees and gullys at Zauchensee.

Cinque Torri

Our Easter snow shoeing weekend in the Dolomites began at Cinque Torri. Erinna and I made a loop of the towers, hunting for WW1 war tunnels, waist deep powder and spaghetti bolognese.

Clocher Clochetons Traverse

A rather ridiculous route in the Aigulles Rouges, involving multiple abseils, a lassoed tyrolean traverse and a few pitches of climbing thrown in between. All climbed in French Alpine Style (avec baguette).
